Version v0.6.0

Faster canvas and smarter chat tools

This release makes the canvas much smoother and more reliable when zooming around big graphs. It also adds a more capable chat composer, better support for connected MCP servers, and new agent skill loading that can happen automatically. On top of that, Quick-Derive and Settings both got cleaner and easier to use.

Release highlights

What’s new

  1. Canvas stays smooth at 60fps

Zooming and working in large node graphs should feel much steadier now, with fewer flashes, less lag, and no more blank panels caused by memory issues. The app also does less work in the background, which helps it stay responsive.

  2. Chat composer is easier to use

You can now open a slash menu with the keyboard, mention things with @, and see inline token pills for skills and mentions. That makes composing faster and helps you keep track of what you’ve inserted.

  3. Connected MCP servers now sign in

Artyx can now connect to MCP servers that require sign-in through your browser, so you can use authenticated servers more easily. If a server has trouble, the app now surfaces the failure instead of quietly stalling.

  4. Agent skills load more intelligently

Skills can now be created and loaded in a more flexible way, including loading more than one skill at once and automatically bringing in the right skill files when needed. This makes the Artyx Agent more useful with less manual setup.

  5. Quick-Derive and settings are cleaner

Quick-Derive now has a simpler source-text flow, better fallback behavior if a model fails, and per-variant prompts. Settings were also simplified so the Agents page is less crowded and easier to scan.

In the app

Where to find it

  1. 01

Open the Chat composer at the bottom of the app and type a slash to bring up the command menu.

You can also type @ to mention a skill or item directly in the message.

  2. 02

Look for the token pills inside the message field as you add slash commands or mentions.

Hover over a pill to preview what it refers to.

  3. 03

Open the Agents area from Settings to review the updated agent and skill options.

The page is more compact now, with fewer counters and less clutter.

  4. 04

Go to Quick-Derive from the 3D workflow if you want to generate derived images from source text.

The flow now uses a simpler input path and can fall back more gracefully if the main model fails.

  5. 05

Connect an MCP server through the Artyx Agent setup flow when prompted to sign in.

If the server requires authentication, Artyx will open your system browser and return you to the app after login.
